once in a life time offer?
Im 27 years old, originally from Los Angeles, California. I moved to New Jersey after i met my boyfriend while he was on vacation in LA. it was love at first site and we are still happily together after 2 years. I have met such amazing good people out here, my bf has an amazing family, i have amazing roommates and an awesome house with low rent!! i was really blessed with the risk i took moving accross the country. i was just recently offered an amazing job opportunity back in LA. this is an amazing once in a life time job offer that would set me for life...im talking about a career! amazing benefits and pay!! the problem is that it was so easy to get up and leave LA for NJ for a reason; im not too crazy about the lifstyle and the LA scene and that everything is just so superficial. real friends are hard to come by in LA...my bf said he is definitley considering and thinking about taking a chance to move to LA with me...if he doesnt i would be devistated...i dont want to leave my home and friends and family out here to go to a miserable lonely place, but this job is a dream! what do i do? hope for another great offer knocking on my door or leave my life i made for the one i already left??? please help!

i miss my brother so much?
so my brother went off to college about three years ago. at first it wasn't that bad. i still called and stuff. but now that we're both older, we really understand what we mean to each other. he texts me the nicest things like "i hope were not the type of brother and sister that grow apart from each other". it makes me cry sometimes honestly. it's not that i just miss having him around the house, but i miss the old "him". when he was in high school (we're seven years apart btw), he used to be such a different person. he'd be outgoing and funny and super immature which is how i like having him. thats the brother that i've known since the dayi was born. he calls me princess and loser and seastar when i talk to him and i love the fact that we're cool like that. he lives in Santa Cruz while I live in Los Angeles so it's not like i get to see him everyday. i write to him all the time, not just text messages, but also letters. i miss the presence of the high school brother i had at one time. i miss the days when i knew him as the bass playing, mustang driving, actor, pole vaulting brother. now i know him as the super chill, depressed, politician. everytime he visits, it just gets awkward. hes always upset and he never wants to talk. when he does talk its always about his depressin (i won't go into detail about this). this has been dawning on me for a couple months now. everyday since then, i wonder what happened to the most wonderfull brother in the world?

Which scenario is best for me please respond? Dont be disrespectful please?
I live in Georgia and despise it living here most of my life, plus living with a family who are very religious and Im gay. My plan was to fly out to LA to go to school living at a LGBT transitional living center but that doesnt seem such a good idea. Yes I could be myself in LA to be gay but financially I would be on the street and I DONT want to be like a prostitute and ****. I only have about $4,000 saved up. So that wouldnt last a bit there! lol Ive already came out of the closet in high school but my parents didnt really accept it at all, they didnt kick me out but i still think that there was a motive for keeping me, to make them look good in the church. #1 Should I try to move out and stay in GA and go to college for 2 years and work and save up money, and travel back and forth to LA to see whats out there and to visit and have fun and also look for interning and then move to LA @ 23 #2 Should I stay at home : ( by going to therapy (for depression social anxiety and ADHD and dealing to accept my sexuality) and go to college for 2 years or at least to take more general ed courses and work and save up and still travel to LA to have fun and also to meet new people and find a job or internship and then move to Los Angeles. #3 Should I take summer courses here in Atlanta and work from now on until August and transfer to a community college in LA for Fall Quarter. My uncle lives in Paramount LA CA but his wife doesnt want me to live with them, because of weird reasons I havent even met her, but I think its because there is NO space in there apartment. But her occupation is to help college students to look for apartments or a roommate AND Should I go ahead and go to college for 2 years and then transfer or just take summer general ed courses for So which is the best scenario you guys think that I should do Mind you my goal to live in LA would be right now BUT to be stable I want to be out there no later at the age of 23 and Im 20 right now turning 21 in a month Im good with my sexuality I dont need to be converted to be straight yada yada yada Im not into that if you guys feel threaten with my sexuality! : ) LGBT centers can be crowded too

What was Los Angeles like in the 40s or 50s?
My dad grew up in the days when there were still citrus groves in LA! And he said he could hop on the light rail from Alhambra and go to a USC football game. I realized times have changed sooo much from then but I would love to live in Los Angeles during that time era.
